January Blues

January Blues

Seasonal affective disorder (SAD) is a type of depression that has a seasonal pattern. The symptoms often begin in the autumn as the days start getting shorter. They are most severe during December, January and February. It's sometimes known as 'winter depression’.

The reduction in sunlight can affect our body’s internal clock and lower our mood and can also affect the chemicals in our body that impact our mood, which is where the Sabbia Med® Sunlight Therapy can help.

This sensory relaxation experience takes guests from darkness to sunrise to peak sunshine and then back to sunset in the comfort of a spa at any time of the year! It is the perfect way to combat Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) and to top up Vitamin D levels via gentle UV rays, helping beat winter blues and stimulate the metabolism.
